  75.    if the verifycancels option is enabled.  Many other versions of Linux enable
  76.    this feature, but Slackware has never enabled this option by default.  If
  77.    your site does use it for some reason, you'll want this upgrade.  Note that
  78.    even now that it's fixed, it's not recommended to use this option.  One of
  79.    the INN maintainers had this to say about the option:

  81.      I'll repeat:  As one of the maintainers of INN, I strongly recommend that
  82.      people not use verifycancels; it serves no useful purpose, the behavior
  83.      that it enables is disallowed by the latest draft of the Usenet article

  128. A serious problem exists in the capabilities implementation in
  129. Linux 2.2.15 and earlier.  This bug allows a local attacker to
  130. gain root access from a program such as sendmail that normally
  131. drops root privileges.  Exploits for this problem are making the
  132. rounds, so anyone with concerns about local users making
  133. mischief should upgrade their systems to a 2.2.16 kernel and
  134. 2.2.16 kernel modules.

  163.    already do.  Still, it seems prudent to close the hole, but
  164.    I wouldn't worry about it too much either way.

  746.    upgrading to Pine 4.21, which includes a non-buggy and non-beta (some users
  747.    still reported problems with imap 4.7beta) version of imapd.

  749.    handling the new ptys.  The version provided by util.tgz works fine.

  755.    everyone running an NFS server upgrade to this package immediately.

  764. managable.  When we get close to another stable release (probably several
  765. months down the road), then A and N will be split out into floppy-sized
  766. chunks again (wherever possible).
